HOW TO QUALIFY FOR A MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN IN MINNESOTA
Qualifying for a Medicare Advantage Plan in Minnesota is simple. You must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B and you must be a resident of the state. If you still need to enroll in Medicare Part A & Part B you can do so by calling the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 or by creating a Social Security Account online.
HOW DOES A MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN BENEFIT ME?
A Medicare Advantage Plan eliminates the 20% coinsurance from Medicare Part B in favor of some small copays and cost sharing. For example, instead of you paying 20% of your medical bill out of pocket, you will only pay a copay designated by the plan.
MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS INCLUDE EXTRA BENEFITS
Most Medicare Advantage Plans include extra benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, over-the-counter quarterly reimbursements, meals, gym memberships, and much more. You will want to refer to the plan's Summary of Benefits for a full list of extra benefits you are entitled to.
SOME MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS GIVE YOU MONEY BACK!
Most plans have a $0 premium and some Medicare Advantage Plans even give you money back by adding it to your Social Security check each month. You will want to search for plans with a "Part B giveback" to see if any are available in your area.
SHOULD I GET A MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN OR A MEDICARE SUPPLEMENT PLAN? WHICH PLAN IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Choosing between a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Medicare Supplement Plan is an important decision and it will vary from person to person.
